Lydenburg’s own is first choice

The SACBW is the only women’s organisation that is affiliated with the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI).

LYDENBURG – Jeanette Kruger-Hibbins once again did the town proud when she won the people’s choice award during the South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) Awards ceremony.

The ceremony took place on September 17 at the Southern Sun Hotel in Arcadia, Pretoria. SACBW is an inclusive, dynamic, vibrant and powerful agent of change in the country’s business environment. The council aims to promote the business interests of its members in particular, and the economy of South Africa in general, and offers development for all levels of businesswomen where they can learn, grow and be challenged to excel.

The SACBW is the only women’s organisation that is affiliated with the Afrikaanse Handelsinstituut (AHI). Women are judged in three different categories namely entrepreneur, corporate and professional. Jeanette contested the entrepreneur category. “The chamber is much like the business chamber we have in town.

The only difference is that it is for women only. There were a lot of Mpumalanga category winners. That says plenty of the dynamic women we have in the province.” Jeanette was interviewed in Mbombela, chosen as a finalist then competed against hundreds of woman nationwide.

Although Jeanette did not win in her category, she still walked away with the people’s choice award – the contender with the most votes per SMS.
