
KAMHLUSHWA – Police are concerned about the number of house robberies in the area following two cases reported at Tonga SAPS on Tuesday and Wednesday.
A 60-year-old man and his family were robbed at around 02:00 on Tuesday, after an armed suspect invaded his home. The suspect woke the victim and demanded money and the safe keys. He then stole money kept in the safe, along with cellphones and a handbag, before fleeing the scene.
The next night at around the same time, two suspects robbed a 64-year-old man and his family.
The victim was woken up by two suspects and threatened with a firearm, tied up with clothes and gagged. They demanded money and took his wallet and safe key. The robbers took the victim’s firearm from his safe, demanded car keys and drove off the victim’s white Toyota Hilux. Two laptops, two cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash were also stolen.
