Woman hijacked and held at gunpoint
According to Moela, another assailant joined them and they ordered her to move to the passenger seat where she was covered with a blanket.

LYDENBURG – A woman was hijacked at about 02:00 at the Kellysville four-way stop on Sunday.
According to the communications officer of Lydenburg SAPS, Capt Alfred Moela, Margret Dikeledi Malope (32) was at her house when her brother phoned her and asked to pick him up at Amicus Tavern.
“Immediately after stopping at the four-way stop, she heard the passenger door open. An unknown man was at the door demanding her to take them to town. He apparently promised her R200 petrol money in return. Malope refused and the man pulled out a firearm and told her not to make a noise.”
According to Moela, another assailant joined them and they ordered her to move to the passenger seat where she was covered with a blanket. “They asked her where was she going and she told them that she was going to fetch her brother at the tavern. The suspects then tied her up with cable ties. Seeing that there was not enough petrol in the vehicle, she was ordered out and was left with one of the suspects at a hideout while the other went to town to refuel the car. When the suspect returned to the hideout, Malope was again forced into the vehicle. She was dropped off on a gravel road between Dullstroom and Machadodorp.”
The suspects fled with her blue Toyota Conquest with registration number FLY 604 MP. The value of the stolen vehicle is about R35 000. The hijackers also stole Malope”s Capitec bank card, driver’s licence and Sassa card.
Moela confirmed that an investigation was being conducted into the incident. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information or anyone who spots the vehicle are urged to phone the Lydenburg SAPS on 013-235-1311.
