Pretoriuskop Wimpy staff on strike

Employees of the Wimpy restaurant in Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park went on strike this morning and services may be disrupted.

PRETORIUSKOP – Services at the Wimpy restaurant in Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the Kruger National Park (KNP) may be disrupted as employees went on strike this morning.

It is due to an unresolved dispute between them and their employer.

“As KNP management we have been in discussion with Wimpy management and have been assured that contingency plans are in place to adequately deal with the situation. However we can note that there have been disruptions at the restaurant earlier this morning,” said the KNP’s Managing Executive, Mr Glenn Phillips.

He apologised to guests who might have already been affected by demonstrations at the Wimpy this morning.

As a precautionary measure, SAPS and the KNP’s traffic and security personnel have been deployed to ensure order at all times.
