UPDATE: R40 open after truck fire
The White River Fire Department has responded to extinguish the fire.
WHITE RIVER – One lane of the R40 towards Hazyview has been reopened to traffic, after being closed earlier due to a truck catching on fire.
Spokesman for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Joseph Mabuza, confirmed that traffic was being regulated and the fire being extinguished.
BREAKING NEWS: R40 closed by Da Gama Dam
10:15 – The R40 has been closed due to a truck burning on the road between White River and Hazyview.
The road has been closed and motorists are requested to use the R538 if travelling in that direction.
