Followed by a moonshadow
Henk D'Kat performed all the classics by singer songwriter, Cat Stevens during a tribute show hosted at the Casterbridge Theatre. Young and old showed up to join in the celebration of this great muso's life work at this wonderfully intimate venue.

Lovers of folk rock and acoustic guitar will agree that Cat Stevens is one of the greatest musicians of all times. The talented Henk D’Kat reminded Lowvelders of this fact during a tribute show at the Casterbridge Theatre on December 20. The packed theatre bore testimony to the timelessness of Stevens’ music, as well as of D’Kat’s reputation as performer.

With old favourites like “Moonshadow”, “Wild world”, “Father and son” and “My lady D’Arbanville”, D’Kat walked the audience through Stevens’ life, adding facts and anecdotes to his performance in a rich celebration of the musician’s career. D’Kat is known for his soothing voice and guitar skills, and although the theatre was full, he managed to create a very intimate atmosphere by playing the entire show acoustically.

It was not the first world-class production brought to the Lowveld by the Casterbridge Theatre, and one can only wonder what next to expect from this cosy little theatre. Owner Jay J Botes said that fans of live music and performance can look forward to exciting events in 2015. Visit the theatre website for more information at www.casterbridgetheatre.com.
