GOOD NEWS: Mienke to start rehab today

After weeks of praying, Mienke is finally going to rehab

MBOMBELA – Mienke is finally eligible for rehab. Her mother, Verna Mulder, announced on the Facebook group, Please Pray for Mienke Wednesday.

The eight month old was due for the rehab two weeks ago, but due to continuous fits and instability of her condition, it had to be postponed until she was more stable.

The 12-week long rehabilitation process in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, will see Mienke being taught to suck, balance her neck and sit all over again.

“Thank you for all you prayers,” said Mulder. “The hard work begins now,” she added.

Mienke has, for almost two months, been admitted at the Netcare Waterfall City Hospital in Midrand Johannesburg.

She sustained severe brain damage after she stopped breathing after chocking on her bottle while in the care of her day mother last month.
