The Hazy Runners Athletic Club (HRAC) is celebrating a remarkable achievement at the 2026 Comrades Marathon, with all nine of its athletes completing the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon on June 14.

According to HRAC secretary Sam Zwane, all nine runners who qualified for this year’s race crossed the finish line and returned home with medals, marking a proud milestone for the young club.

This was only the second time HRAC has participated in the prestigious Comrades Marathon since its establishment.

“What an incredible achievement by our club. Congratulations to every runner who represented HRAC with determination, discipline and heart,” said Zwane.

HRAC was established to promote road running, fitness and healthy lifestyles in Hazyview and surrounding communities. Since its formation, the club has steadily grown in membership and has become a platform for developing both recreational and competitive runners.
