MALALANE – An Opel Corsa allegedly overtook the vehicle in front of it, just outside town, around 19:40 last night and nearly collided head-on with an oncoming truck and trailer.
The truck served off the road and the Corsa collided with the trailer. The vehicle overturned and the driver was flung out of the vehicle.
He fell on the road, was hit by the truck that was following his vehicle and died.

Motorists are cautioned to drive extra carefully after dark, as visibility is very limited along the N4. Roadworks between Hectorspruit and Komatipoort are also an added danger.
Various organisations dealing with road safety have urged motorists to keep a safe following distance, stick to the speed limit and be aware of their surroundings.
