Riders are in for a treat, as they head to Mpumalanga for the final race of the popular series this weekend.
Kaapsehoop is a quaint little town with fairytale charm and historical appeal. Situated about 1 586 metres above sea level on the Highveld escarpment, the mountain village is home to more wild horses than people.
While the name may be misleading, the venue is a mere three-hour trip from Johannesburg and 30-minute trip from Mbombela.

The De Kaap Valley has been hidden from the public eye until now, and has remained a secret training ground for mountain bikers lucky enough to discover its exquisite trails.
That is all about to change, however, as riders gear up for the epic Ashburton Investments National MTB Series season finale.
It will be a race of unparalleled beauty with single-track trails through the indigenous Sappi forests and Komatiland plantations.
Sections of the race will also take riders through the Blue Swallow Reserve.
The countryside is characterised by rolling hills decked with grassland, and is home to the beautiful blue swallows that the area is known for.

As riders make their way across the Highveld escarpment, they will be presented with many challenging climbs that need to be conquered.
Exciting river crossings, sheer cliffs, and magical views of the Barberton area promise to make every bit of sweat worth while.
One of the most exciting features of this event will certainly be the finish line. For the first time in the moun-tain-
bike series, riders will end the race on a mountaintop.
