Mine workers taken care of at wellness campaign

ONVERWACHT – Modikwa Platinum Mine ensured its workers were tested for a variety of diseases last week. The mine organised a health- and -wellness campaign recently, it was aimed at eradicating illnesses. More than 350 miners queued for blood pressure, diabetes and HIV/Aids tests, TB screening and cholesterol testing. The workers were also advised on ways of living a healthy lifestyle. Most were encouraged to reduce alcohol intake while others were told to quit smoking and start exercising. Wellness officer Zelda Dzivhani said Modikwa took pride in its workers.”Our main objective was to take care of our employees. We promoted HIV testing and we wanted people to be aware of the disease and also know how to control this.
