Zebras continue to donate to needy

The donations were done in partnership with Bafokeng Hydraulics and Mining Solutions.

Zebras FC has shown its commitment not only to sport, but also to caring for the needy and vulnerable.
This team, who competes in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League (the third-tier soccer league in South Africa), partnered with a local company, Bafokeng Hydraulics and Mining Solutions, to donate groceries to two needy families in Mashishing.

The donations included basic food items such as maize meal, rice, sugar, and tinned foods, among other essentials.

The team members said they had learned about the families’ challenges and decided to intervene.

“Most of our supporters are from Mashishing. When these families needed a helping hand, we volunteered to assist with the little that we have,” said club chairperson Thabo Mogane. He said the club wanted to give back to the community, show locals that they care, and thank them for their support throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Mogane and his team continued their outreach efforts by donating more than 15 netball balls to Thaba Chweu Boarding School. The balls were handed to the school’s U13 to U19 teams. The principal, GL Montle, thanked the Good Samaritans for investing in sport.

“We also encourage parents who are able to donate to the school to do so without fear,” said Montle.

Mogane said his team will continue helping needy families in and around Mashishing. He applauded Bafokeng Hydraulics and Mining Solutions for always lending a helping hand.
