Hawks bust two police officers in Jeppes Reef
The Mpumalanga Hawks arrested two police officers in Jeppes Reef this morning on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of unlicensed firearms.
JEPPES REEF – Two police officers appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court in Tonga today on charges of dealing in drugs and the possession of unlicensed firearms.
Macdonald Masilela (32) and Silas Shabangu (41) were arrested by the Hawks in Mpumalanga and the National Intervention Unit in Jeppes Reef earlier this morning.

According to Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson Cpt Dineo Sekgotodi, firearms and cash were confiscated.
They were released on R1 000 bail.
The case against Masilela was postponed to March 7, when he will appear in the same court.
Shabangu’s case was transferred to Nelspruit Court B and he will appear there on March 15.
The case was split as the crimes they are accused of did not happen at the same place.
