Citybug hosts a Power Challenge to help school

Citybug, a popular shuttle service in the Lowveld, will host a Power Challenge on August 3, 2019, at Hoërskool Bergvlam. The event is to raise funds for Flamboyant School.

Flamboyant school caters for pupils from Grade 1 to 9 was established in 1985. It was started in response to the need for remedial education in the Lowveld.

The school operates within a non-discriminatory, Christian ethos which aspires to provide every pupil with the opportunities and skills to achieve to their full potential.

The day will include the following activities:

  • Rowling challenge
  • Gymnastics
  • Strongman (individual or team of 4) bus-pull, Stone lifts, Farmer’s carry
  • Powerlift – deadlift, bench press, back squat

 

Cash Prizes

  • R500 for individual gymnastics winner
  • R1 500 for the individual power lift winner
  • R5 000 will go to a winning team in the Strongman Challenge
  • R 5 000 event & winning team

Times and Registrations for the Power Challenge:

  • 08:30 Gymnastics for individuals (Toes-to-bar, Pull-up, bar muscle-up) R50 per entry.
  • 09:30 Powerlift for individuals R150 per entry.
  • 10:30 Strongman individual/team of 4 this will include (Bus-pull, Stone lifts, Farmer’s carry) R500 per entry.

12:00 Event- Individual/ Team Event

R250 per individual or Teams of 4 -6 people Which will include 5000m Rowing, 400m run, 200 burpees and 200 single skipping.

Cash Prizes:

  • Gymnastics R500
  • Powerlifts R1 500
  • Strongman R5 000
  • Event R5 000

 Times and Registrations for the Rowing Challenge:

08:00: 500m R20 per entry

• 09:00: 1000m R50 per entry

• 10:00: 2000m R100

• 11:00: 3000m R150 per entry

• 12:00: event R250 per entry

Cash Prizes for the Rowing Challenge are as follows:

  • R500 for 500m
  • R1000 for 1000m
  • R2000 for 3000m
  • R5000 for Event
