Two bikers in accidents in Heritage Day traffic
Two accidents on Heritage Day left one biker dead and another critically injured.

The first accident was a head-to-rear collision between a motorcycle and a sedan on the N4 on Monday morning.
According to the Department of Community, Safety, Security and Liaison spokesman Joseph Mabuza, the accident happened on the Schoemanskloof Road next to Joubert and Sons’ Farm at about 09:00.
“This crash happened a few minutes after the biker clocked 283 kilometres per hour on the N4 where our officers were conducting a speed check. The biker then slowed down and then the accident occurred. He hit the back of the vehicle and then was flung over it. Unfortunately the biker did not survive the crash.”
Nobody in the sedan was injured.
Nelspruit Concerned Citizens reported on social media that later the same day at 15:25, a call was received on their Zello channel to provide assistance for a motorcyclist who was injured in an accident on the R532, close to Lisbon Falls.
Medical services were dispatched by road, but a decision was made to airlift the patient from the scene to Mediclinic Nelspruit as it would be much quicker.
ER24’s Kim Habib said they assisted the patient from the helicopter into the hospital. “He had sustained internal injuries and fractures.”
