LYDENBURG – Can you walk with God even if nothing makes sense? This is the question that local writer and geologist, Christopher Letsoele addressed in his second book titled, The Promise. The Journey. The Troubles. which was recently launched at De Kasteel Country Estate on the Ohrigstad road.
According to Letsoele, who is a geology manager at Samancor Chrome Mine, this book is a practical approach on how to successfully walk with God in the face of seemingly insurmountable challenges we will certainly face. It is a mindset needed to walk hand in hand with Him. Many people miss their destiny because they fail to understand that walking with God is a process.
“Walking with God is a partnership. Any partnership is based on principles. These principles are the rules of the game. In the book, I outlined 10 principles that people need to grasp if they want to successfully walk with God,” he elaborated.
During an interview the master of ceremonies, Innocent Mashaba asked Letsoele what inspired him to write the book. “I recently had to face distressing circumstances in my life – I lost my job and was in an accident. These changed the perspective I had of God, it changed my faith and I learned from it. Most of us claim to love God but in fact, we love Him for what He can do for us. But what happens when God does not do the things we ask for? Can we still confess that we do love God even if He is not responding to our prayers? God has called us to a particular journey and God did not say that there will be no challenges to face. The idea with the book was to spread the message through God. All human beings are born for a purpose with a destiny to fulfil. Whether we are aware of the purpose is another issue. Some people have not woken up to the immense potential that lies dormant within them. Others have realised it and are endeavouring to live up to their purpose.”
His first book titled Sometimes God Allows Us to Cry was published in March 2017. Attendees were also given the opportunity to win this book during a raffle draw. Silvia Hlongwa, Past Nico Mkhondo, Katlego Mantsengwane, Past Morrison Mateke, and Fanie Mndawe won the books.
The Promise. The Journey. The Troubles. is now available at PNA in the Heads Shopping Centre. Readers can phone Letsoele on 071-412-1529 or email him at christopher.letsoele@samancorcr.com for information.
