Worries arise in search for Kruger Millions
Thelma Mbuyane believes her forefathers owned the land before Mashishing Township was established.

MASHISHING – A woman, who claims that a portion of land belongs to her, is worried that it has been dug up by people allegedly looking for Paul Kruger’s millions.
The freshly dug holes were discovered by the claimant two weeks ago.
According to her she had submitted a land claim on a portion of Townlands, of Lydenburg 31 JT, at the regional land claims commissioner in Mpumalanga in 2017.
She told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that she had a vision of her ancestors informing her that their land was being vandalised by unknown men.
She went to investigate and found that two holes were dug, with one that looked as if it led to an old mine shaft.
“We are still amazed by the tales we heard of the Paul Kruger millions in the township.
“We hear these stories, but according to rumours this is not where the Kruger millions have been buried. I am very disturbed by what is happening,” she said.
Mbuyane also suspects that the people are conducting illegal mining on her claimed land portion, since they were working at night with the use of mining equipment to dig the stopes.
