Locals team up to encourage more shopping in Mbombela

Cheetah Express, Go Nelspruit and i'langa Mall have joined forces to ensure more Mozambican shoppers have easy access to the mall.

MBOMBELA – Drop & Shop was officially launched at the mall last Friday. The mall will henceforth be the stopping point for all passengers travelling between Mbombela and Maputo with Cheetah Express.

Suzaan Duthie, owner of Go Nelspruit, explained that it is aimed at ensuring Mozambican shoppers shop at i’langa Mall, which will encourage the tenants to, in turn, reach out to the market and thus build the local economy.

“Many Mozambicans make use of our services: retail, medical and education. We need their business.” She added that local businesses often missed this market and should instead cater to Mozambican visitors more.

The launch was attended by i’langa tenants, as well as Nic Elliot, director of the MCLIA Maputo Corridor, and Solange Soares Nicholson, TRAC communications manager.

“We are bringing the market to them, and tenants can now reach out to this focused market,” Duthie added.

Elmare Gerber, i’langa Mall marketing manager, said the partnership promised a lot of positive developments.

“This is about relationship building, brand awareness, and bringing value to help build a strong economic growth for Mbombela and its community,” she said.
