Limpopo’s Department of Public Works appoint new HOD
Seroka’s appointment comes at a time when the Department is on a key mission to improve its audit opinion and generally to improve its image.
POLOKWANE – The Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure has the new Head of the Department. MEC, Nandi Ndalane today (1 April 2019) introduced Mr Timothy Seroka as the new accounting officer. The appointment of Seroka follows the resignation of the former HOD, Mr Obakeng Mongale in December 2017. Following Mongale resignation, the Department was headed by Mr Professor Friday Mushwana and recently Ms Fhumulani Maguga on acting capacity.
Seroka’s appointment comes at a time when the Department is on a key mission to improve its audit opinion and generally to improve its image. The new Head of the Department has a wealth of experience in the public service sector having worked at the Department of Cooperative government, Human Settlement and Traditional Affairs in Limpopo, Department of Water Affairs and Forestry as well as Nkangala District Municipality. Prior to joining Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Mr Seroka was employed by the Department of Cooperative Government and Traditional affairs as the Chief Director responsible for Municipal Infrastructure. At the same vein he was the acting Deputy Director General responsible for Infrastructure delivery Management Support (MISA).

Seroka is a trained civil engineer. He obtained Master of Engineering Management in Urban management from the University of Cape Town. He also has various qualifications in Civil Engineering.
