Join fellow believers on Jesus Hill

With Easter weekend approaching, Lydenburgers are reminded of the Easter Sunday service at the cross on Jesus Hill at Paardeplaats Nature Retreat, 12 kilometres along Long Tom Pass.

LYDENBURG – As usual, the SONrise service will start at 06:00, this year led by Past Dries Strydom and his team.
Everybody, young and old, is invited to join in this special Christian event.

Attendees should arrive from 05:30, armed with torches, hiking shoes, warm clothes and blankets – there are tree trunks to sit on and transport will be provided for those who cannot climb the hill. Please do not drive up the hill by yourself, the path is prone to erosion.

There will be ample parking at the bottom of the hill and paraffin lanterns to help light up the way to the top. Sunrise is estimated to be at 06:10.

The SONrise service is a multi-denominational commemoration of Christ’s resurrection from the dead, with fellowship, praise and worship by Christians from the area and further afield.

It is no ordinary experience to see the sun rise over Lydenburg and the Long Tom.
Those who are not in a hurry to get back, are welcome to bring along a flask of coffee and hot cross buns for afterwards.

For more information about this event phone Strydom on 083-656-8310 or Rev Antoinette Wilson on 082-896-0716.
Church services over Easter are published in the town’s events calendar on www.lydenburgbusiness.co.za.
