Incentive to recover long outstanding municipal debt
TCLM have resolved to grant residential and non-residential consumers a plan to enable customers to settle their arrear municipal accounts.

LYDENBURG – In a bid to get non-ratepayers and those indebted to Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM) to pay their accounts, a debt incentive plan has been brought to the table.
TCLM have resolved to grant residential and non-residential consumers a plan to enable customers to settle their arrear municipal accounts.
According to the municipality, up to 50 per cent of 0utstanding residential debt and 40 per cent non-residential debt will be written off if a consumers account is paid in full and the balance of arrears are paid before May 31.
This is in a bid to improve cash flow performance and to assist customers requiring subsidization. The plan is applicable to arrear amounts as at March 31 and will run from May 1 to May 31.
Five per cent automatic discount will also be issued on maintained accounts. For more information about the initiative, contact TCLM on 013-235-7300.
