TCLM releases tariff increases
This means that electricity has increased by 9,41 per cent for 2019/2020.

LYDENBURG – Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM) has introduced its tariff increase for the 2019/2020 period. These increases were implemented on July 1 this year.
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has approved a 13,87 per cent average price increase, which was implemented on April 1 for Eskom direct customers and a 15,63 per cent average price increase for municipalities.
This means that electricity has increased by 9,41 per cent for 2019/2020.
The tariff increases for TCLM have residents feeling the crunch. Residential household, flats and prepaid consumers will see a average increase of 15,38 per cent. Unit costs for use less than 50kwh will increase by 15,38 per cent.
The same will apply for usage between 51 and 350 kwh. For energy consumed between 351 and 600 kwh the increase will be 15,15 per cent. For usage more than 600 kwh a 13,40 per cent increase will apply.
