This man stands to queue

"Clients at these institutions just have to look for me. I wear an orange bib on which 'I Queue for You' is written. I stand in the queue for them and when they pay, I go on to the next client."

BURGERSFORT – We despise standing in long queues for hours. Queues are everywhere in town. Grocery stores, retailers, banks, post offices, government buildings, and many franchises.

Denny Koketso Nkuna has a solution for those who are too busy to stand in queues, or the ones who lack patience to stand in lines. He queues for his clients.

The man from Alverton is offering to stand in a line for you while you are busy with other projects or chores.

“I never had luck to get a job; I have been applying for about 10 years. Because of the high rate of unemployment, I ended up doing floor tiling and ceilings.”

Nkuna told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that he did not succeed in the self-taught trade. He found the going tough, as there were not enough customers for his services.

This former engineering student at Dr CN Phatudi College said due to lack of opportunities, he decided to initiate this unique business.

“People struggle to complete their daily plans because of long queues to get their business done. I am here to assist them. The response has been good so far.”

He remarked that the longer he stays in a line, the more you pay.

“We charge R50 per hour. My business is targeting queues at the Departments of Home Affairs and Labour, as well as the licencing departments. I operate all over Burgersfort and also in Praktiseer.

He revealed that the money he gets is enough to support his 10-month-old baby boy. “I have also appointed five other guys to assist with the daily duties of queuing. This is a registered business. I am creating employment.”

Nkuna’s wish is to create a cellphone app. “I need an app similar to Uber that will help me to reach people anywhere. I can also hire people all over the country to do these duties. I get calls from people as far as KwaZulu-Natal who want to participate in the business.”

Nkuna’s services in Burgersfort commenced on August 6. Those in need of his services can contact him on 071-278-4013.
