Mashishing Choirs celebrate Heritage Day

Locals enjoyed delicious African samp, sugar beans, chicken feet, Sepedi porridge, mala mogodu and pig trotters.

MASHISHING – Mashishing Gospel Choirs Association (MCA), with the community, celebrated Heritage Day on Tuesday. The celebration took place at the Mashishing community hall where church choirs wearing their traditional attires joined together celebrating Heritage Day and worshipping God.

A member of the MCA, Joe Mkhabela, told Steelburger/Lydenburg News they are very thankful to Mmaleshoko Trading’s Mmadira Mohlala who initiated the event and sponsored traditional meals to the attendees.

Mkhabela added that this was an excellent initiative since the township is diverse and it was a great opportunity to teach young people about different cultures and to build the spirit of ubuntu.
