Uplands kids get business savvy

The emphasis was on using recyclable materials to promote sustainability, as well as to reduce their carbon footprint.

WHITE RIVER – Uplands’ grade three pupils had the opportunity to explore money as a concept in maths during their first market day, which was recently held at the school.

They focused on supply and demand, what profits and losses are, as well as the various needs and wants businesses have to take into consideration.

At the beginning of the third term, the grade threes took a trip down to Monkey Apple and experienced first-hand what it takes to run a successful business.
