Father in desperate need for hit and run information

A family that lost their son in a hit and run, urge the public to help them with information regarding the incident to solve the case and find some peace.

BURGERSFORT – Hendrik Claassen, father of Jurie Claassen (21) is desperate for any information regarding the hit and run incident that caused his son his life.

Jurie was walking home from a friend’s house near Apiesdoring on November 16, 2019. The few people that were in the area only recall hearing a loud crash, but did not see the vehicle. The driver left the scene, leaving Jurie on the side of the road. He was declared dead on scene by medical personnel.

Pieces of the vehicle that were found on the scene indicate that the vehicle was some sort of Opel. But with no bystanders present, little information was provided. Burgersfort SAPS is currently investigating the case.

The family would like to reach out to the community for any additional information, and they ask the public to please contact them on 073-514-4177 if they know of anything regarding the case, or if they witnessed the incident. Anyone with information can also contact the paper at 082-826-6926.
