To honour him and other learners who excelled in the 2019 year-end examinations, as well as teachers for their outstanding work, the school organised a lunch.

Several former students of the school attended the event. Speaking at the gathering, school principal, Jacob Moshwana, said every year his school has sent their top learners to high-quality institutions of learning
“We always invite our former pupils to come and guide our current grade 12 learners. The school has produced several doctors, engineers, architects and lawyers.”
The principal added, “Teachers who had given us a 100 per cent pass rate in their subjects, need to also pull up their socks and give us 100 per cent with distinctions.” Mashilo will study mechanical engineering at the University of Johannesburg.
