Mayoral Cup teams battle it out for a place in last 16

The round of 32 games of the Mayoral Cup was played at Mangweni and Driekoppies stadiums last weekend.
Phiva Barcelona battled against Block B United which knocked out the famous and one-time winners of the tournament, Naughty Boys, on penalties. Block B United continued their way to the top, winning 4-1.

The second game was very tough with Ntunda Zamelek going head to head with Mdladla Black Movers. Zamelek won 1-0.
They qualified for the last 16 draw.
Block A Eli Mandlas played against Mthatha Peacemaker which were eliminated in the quarter-finals last season. Peacemakers won 2-1.
Dludluma Love and Peace were beaten 2-0 by the new strong arrivals in the tournament, Mashaba United.
At Driekoppies Stadium both KaMhlushwa teams were eliminated from the tournament.

Schulzendal Star Wanderers were on fire, eliminating KaMhlushwa Barcelona 4-1.
Tornado All Stars defeated KaMhlushwa Screamers 2-0.
Harmony Academy kept it rolling, knocking out Mawewe Swallows 3-1.
Magogeni Try Again lost to Sikhwahlane Tigers 5-4 on penalties after playing a 2-2 draw in the 90 minutes.

Games will be played on Sunday January 26 at KaMaqhekeza and KaMhlushwa stadiums.
