Brave neighbour rescues children from burning house

A woman was arrested for allegedly setting a house alight

A woman was arrested for allegedly setting a house alight. The home was occupied by two children.
The house apparently belongs to her husband. A neighbour saw the smoke emitting from the house, ran in and rescued the children.

On Monday at about 13:00, the Kamhlushwa SAPS received information about a house on fire. The police moved swiftly to the crime scene and upon arrival found the house in flames.
A preliminary investigation was conducted and a 38-year-old woman was arrested.


The woman was charged with arson and attempted murder. She will appear in the Tonga Magistrate Court this week.
“Stop doing things that are on the wrong side of the law. Seek professional help if there are any challenges that you encounter either domestically or criminal,” station commander, Capt Frank Sibiya, requested the public.
