Nkomazi Businessman gunned down.
The suspect who is known to the police is still on the run and an investigation into the murder has been opened.

A foreign national businessman from Nkomazi was recently shot dead.
The preliminary investigation ruled that the 45-year-old was shot once in the head. The name of the deceased is being withheld.
According to Brig Leonard Hlati, it is alleged that both the deceased and the suspect visited a local restaurant to buy food.
“The suspect allegedly left the victim and the restaurant owner for a while before returning to shoot the victim,” he reported.
” The victim and the suspect arrived at the restaurant in the same vehicle, which the suspect used to flee and was later recovered a few kilometers from the crime scene.”

The Tonga area has been the scene of another crime of attempted murder since 2015. Another businessman, Saleem Patel, was also gunned down outside his business premises on August 28 of that year.
Patel, who owns hardware and retail stores in Nkomazi, was shot seven times from close range just after Friday prayers.

He survived the apparent attempt by business competitors to eliminate him and spent three months recovering in hospital.
Eight men accused of the crime appeared in court at the end of 2017.
Pirzada Masood, Sohari Rajah, Kermin Afzal, Ismael Patel, Somabhai Yusubai Tap, Bheki Mkhabela, Azahar Ali and Nadeem Mohamed appeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Various charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The case is set to go to regional trial in July.
