Nkomazi man sentenced to 15 years for murder

He was sentenced in the local Magistrate's Court, according to police spokesperson, Sgt Natacia Mbuyane.

Sizwe Musa Mbhamali (35) received 15 years behind bars for murdering a woman (45) in October 2019.

Mbhamali killed her at Diharp Farm near Strydomblock Road. He confessed to the court that he had killed the victim.

He said she had been making him sick by using witchcraft.

Komatipoort station commander, Lt Col Louw Stander, condemned the killing of women and said this has become a norm in South Africa. He welcomed Mbhamali’s sentencing.
