Several municipal officials who had contact with the colleague were also tested on Friday. Their results are yet to be released.

They remain in self-isolation.

According to Ramaila’s spokesperson, Willy Mosoma, he will continue to conduct his meetings virtually, as has been the case recently, and he’ll perform most of his other duties from home for the time being.

He once again conveyed his best wishes to the colleague who tested positive.

“Our thoughts and prayers remain with our employee who is recovering in self-isolation,”said Ramaila.

“Covid-19 is by no means a thing of the past. Anyone can get it, but it is our responsibility as individuals to stop the spread of coronavirus. Let us observe health precautions at all times,” Ramaila added.
