Make it count this Christmas and help save little “Sami”

Pediatric Care Africa (PCA) are appealing to the public and their Christmas spirit to help raise funds for a young Mbombela toddler suffering from Neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that begins in the nerve cells and forms into a solid cancerous tumor outside of the brain.

The two-year-old Mbombela toddler has seen the tumor grow over her head and parts of her face. PCA Secretary Surika van der Merwe said the toddler will need “the services of a number of specialists”.

“We at Pediatric Care Africa are going to do whatever we can to help this little girl,” said van der Merwe.

She said the little girl was recently examined by well-known pediatrician at Mediclinic Nelspruit, Dr Carine Smit.

“We were advised to seek urgent help for her in Pretoria at a facility that have a specialist child oncologist as there is no child Oncologist available in Nelspruit,” said van der Merwe.

“Her treatment will run into hundreds of thousands of rands and will take months at a time. We are therefore appealing to the public and businesses to assist with her medical costs to enable us to help her,” she said.
