Avroy Shlain celebrates women with phenomenal competition

In 1973, Avroy and Beryl Shlain started the renowned cosmetics company, Avroy Shlain, which has since provided the South African market with a local range of high-quality products, from skincare to make-up and even fashion accessories such as handbags.

It continues to meet the needs of its growing customer base through a nationwide network of beauty advisers who represent the boundless passion of Avroy Shlain.

Mother’s Month competition

In the month of May, Avroy Shlain Mpumalanga’s Lowveld independent distributors, Karen du Preez and Elsa de Wet, hosted a competition in collaboration with 11 local businesses, in which winners could win prizes to the value of R20 000.

The winner

The entries for this competition were astounding, and at the end, Gina Carvalho was chosen as the winner from a heartfelt nomination from her best friend and sister-in-law, Sandra Carvalho.

The two met 21 years ago through their ex-husbands and became best friends. They supported each other every step of the way through tough times.

Sandra writes, “I take my hat off to Gina. She stuck it out in a difficult marriage to make sure her kids got the best education and made sure she was hands-on throughout. She has worked hard to put her kids through university. She is a super mom! Gina deserves a medal for being the best mother to her kids, even though things were never perfect in her life.”

She describes her friend as a woman who chose to dedicate time to herself, growing from a shy, inexperienced woman to a bubbly gym fanatic. “I admire her integrity, her strength, her determination and her resilience; I do not know any other woman with her shine!

“I love her endlessly and she will always be my big sister. If I could give her the world I would, as she has stuck it out with me these past few years like nobody has. She does not know this, but I am her biggest fan,” she concluded.

Gina will be spoiled with this big prize within the next month, and Avroy Shlain praises her for shining from within!
