Car rolls, crashes into trees in KNP
A vehicle accident was reported on Friday in the Kruger National Park. One person was transported to hospital from the scene.
An accident occurred on the Hardekool Draai between Letaba and Olifants rest camps in the Kruger National Park on Friday.
According to the park, a red sedan with one male passenger rolled and crashed into trees.
“He was travelling from south to north and there were no brake marks where the accident occurred. It looks like he went straight at the sharp corner and could not regain control of the vehicle.

“He had a lot of belongings in the car which are being kept safe at Letaba Rest Camp,” a statement by the park read.

A CPF Medical and REDIMED911 ambulance attended to the scene. The man was assisted and transported to Maphuta Malatji Hospital outside Phalaborwa. He suffered only minor injuries, according to Jaco Gericke from CPF Medical.
The duty manager at Mopani Rest Camp was alerted about the accident. From what could be established from the man’s gate permit, he came in at Orpen Gate on Friday morning and was travelling to Mopani.
From the park’s side, the man was wished a speedy recovery and guests were once again reminded to be cautious of their speed when travelling inside the park, for their safety and that of the animals.
