Spectators were amazed by the aerobatic maneuvers during the Fall Fly-In Festival at the Lydenburg Air Field on Saturday October 30.
It was hosted by all the members of the Lydenburg Flying Club, also known as Fall Lydenburg Legends. In full flight, with the panorama of Lydenburg behind, various aerobatic and helicopter teams showcased their flying talents.

One of the aerobatic teams was the Goodyear Eagles and the Boeing Steerman team also did an aerial display.
Dennis Spence and Glen Warren from the Good Year Eagles are both pioneers of airshow display flying in South Africa. They both represented South Africa at the World Advanced Aerobatic Championships and have an extensive curriculum vitae in aviation.
The three pilots of the Flying Lions Aerobatic Team were a father-and-son duo, Scully and Ellis Levin, and Arnie Meneghelli. Their routine was even more special to pilot Scully Levin. He attended the Nortor Flying School with the late Gerrie van der Merwe (Lunsklip Fisheries, Badfontein). Van der Merwe was also a proud member of the Lydenburg Flying Club. The Fly-In Festival nearly fell on the one-year anniversary of his death.
The Fly-in Lydenburg festival was a huge success with stalls and live music.
Visitors could also take a helicopter ride or have a look at the great display of other aircrafts standing around.
The organisers would like to thank all the air crafts, businesses and residents that supported the successful event.
