New teachers join Laerskool Numbi’s ranks

Six new teachers have joined the ranks of Laerskool Numbi and hope to fulfil their responsibilities in providing support, education and life lessons to the pupils this year.

Ewout Verschoor is from Pretoria and aims to make a difference in the school’s sport. He has a love for children and wants to inspire them. Verschoor is highly motivated to share his love of sport with the learners.

Zinhle Mathebula is a local who will not only be a teaching assistant, but also the clothing store assistant at the school. “I am going to be the helping hand, the missing puzzle piece that you always search for,” she said.

Tersia Dohse moved to Hazyview from Limpopo to continue her teaching career at Laerskool Numbi. She is a mother of three and will teach maths. “It will be hard work, but I will make the pupils fall in love with the subject. I hope they develop an interest of their own for everything numbers,” said Dohse.

Local Dion Nkuna joined the teaching team and has a strong passion for educating the youth. “I am fond of multiple sporting codes and would really enjoy participating in them and be involved with the goals the school has for its sport,” he said.

Hildegrad Swanepoel came all the way from Cape Town to fulfil her dream goal of helping young ones to achieve their highest potential. She will be teaching English home and first additional language, and life skills.

Another local, Sumari Capazorio, is privileged to now teach at the school she once attended. After completing her studies in Potchefstroom, she immediately applied to teach in her hometown.

“Being back home is always a blessing and I will work hard to make a difference in the lives of the schoolchildren,” said Capazorio.
