Local is lekker, so show your support

What better way to support your community than by buying at your local markets? The Halls Flea Market offers you the chance to do just that, but it needs your help.

What better way to support your community than by buying at your local markets?

The Halls Flea Market offers you the chance to do just that, but it needs your help. The organisers of this market said the market once offered a vibrant Sunday morning/afternoon of stall browsing, but as with most businesses, Covid hit it hard. That, and they are slightly off the beaten path.

They have made a promise to market-goers, though; they are working on getting more stalls and more products on offer to make your trip to Halls worthwhile. They also offer competitive pricing and quality products. And, once you are done there, Halls is right there for a bite to eat or a walk through the nursery.

One of the organisers, Mark Robus, said this market is the only source of income for a number of stallholders some of them pensioners. What they do there may be a primary source of income, but it is also a passion, however.

“We give people a chance to get together, creating a social event where new friendships and ideas can be shared.

“We cannot promise you happiness, but we can promise you won’t be bored,” said Robus.

There is anything form braai equipment to chutney, clothes, jewellery, books and more.

He reckons the more people come together, the better is works out for everyone.

If you would like to present your products at the market, contact Michele Bolton on 073 351 9847. It is only R50 per stall.

The market takes place on the lawn opposite Halls Farm Stall every Sunday from 08:00 to 14:00.
