Numbi Primary athletes bring their A game

The WhiteHazy1 athletics meeting had Numbi Primary athletes go for gold and silver on the school's field on February 9.

The goal of the day was for each athlete to test themselves at the friendly and to reach their own personal best records, as they prepared for the main Interprimary.

Likhuleni Mpendulo took gold in the 80-metre race for boys’ u/10 with a time of 11.81 seconds. Shanice Boatemaa achieved gold as well for the same item, running a time of 11.72 seconds for the u/11 girls.

Numbi’s athletes made it clear their strong point among all the items was high jump. Two athletes of Numbi Primary, Gino Nkwashu and Khoza Rifuwo, attained gold and silver for the boys’ u/13 high jump.

Gino jumped a height of 1.35 metres and Khoza shortly behind with a height of 1.3 metres.

Alexis Ireland took home the gold by jumping a height of 1.2 metres at the girls’ u/12 high jump, and Johan de Klerk achieved second place at the boys’ u/12 high jump with a height of 1.25 metres.
