A hair affair for CANSA

More than 100 people arrived at Jungle Café Pub and Bar on Sunday February 27 to participate in the Shavathon organised by CANSA.

The day was deemed a huge success and more than R6 000 was raised.

The community members from Hazyview came out in their numbers, to either have their hair and beards cut or sprayed in a variety of colours by the volunteers.

Throughout the day, many showed up to share a drink and a laugh with their family and friends, while their hair was being attended to.

“We are grateful for getting the community involved with missions like this one. It is always nice to see how people will go out of their way to help and to share a laugh and a good cause,” said Raymond Steyn of Jungle Café.

The volunteers were grateful for the sheer commitment shown by the people of the small town, and will organise more events like this in the future.
