Curro Nelspruit’s Sycamore Theatre now open

Guests were welcomed to the grand opening and shown a short video of what the completed theatre would look like. It is expected to be completed in May this year.

Curro Nelspruit opened its Sycamore Theatre to the public with a stunning showcase of talents from both former and current learners on Tuesday March 15. Parents and visitors arrived at the Curro Nelspruit’s Andrew Collie Hall, now known as Curro’s Sycamore Theatre, at around 17:30 for the show that started at 18:00.

The audience gave a hearty round of applause to each of the performers. To start the show off, a current Curro learner, Gustav Kruger, had the audience giggling with a comedic monologue. He was followed by former learner Mateo Komlosy, who cited a poignant monologue regarding the hardships of war.

Next to perform was another former learner who had helped start the Curro marimba band several years ago. Thando Silinda took the lead as current learners in uniform gave a lively performance that had the audience clapping hands and tapping their feet in time to the beat.

The show had a total of 23 performances at the grand opening, each as breathtaking as the last.
