Help Wandisa to reach New York

A lucky few Lowveld talents have the opportunity of a lifetime coming up in July – the IMTA 2022 New York. Wandisa Simelane is one of them. This big city convention, hosted by the IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association), is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for hopeful young models, actors, singers and dancers to show international scouts (more than 300 of them) what they have to offer.

It will consist of 10 days of competitions across these various sections. Naturally, this comes at a cost. Wandisa will be showing talent scouts in the Big Apple his array of talents in not one, but all four categories available at the IMTA. He has aspirations to be a model, actor, dancer and hip hop singer. At 16 years of age he hopes to work with some of the biggest modelling agencies in the world.

To have a photoshoot with famous models and experience career development at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy are also on the top of his list. In his attempt to pave the way to the New York journey he entered Mr Teen Mbombela, which he said gave him the confidence to take his career to the next step. He also acted in a local movie and receives training at HMT Talent Agency.

This journey has always been a passion for him.

“I have a dream to go to America and walk in one of those fabulous fashion shows showcasing designs of the world from famous designers, and perform on stage.”

He spends his free time on projects that improve his interpersonal skills by participating in various community initiatives. He also enjoys doing research on acting, modelling and fashion shows to further develop his knowledge in these areas.
