Lanies have Chicken Licken Golf Day

Laerskool Malelane hosted a Chicken Licken Golf Day at Malelane Golf Club on Saturday March 19.

The golf course was a hive of activity from early morning as 74 players participated.

“The day was a swing-and-a-hit for all these golfers who enjoyed playing on a traditional Saturday,” said Shireen Jones who organised the event.

Chicken Licken and other sponsors did not hold back in making this day one for the books, as lunch and prizes were provided to all players. Golfers paired up as 36 teams competed for their bragging rights.

The teams played in the Stableford format, where a scoring system was used for the golf event. After a long day of swinging and putting, Hennie Barwise and Brandon Buckingham were announced the winning team, scoring a total score of 36 points.

“The day was fantastic; golfers were excited to be there and everything was running smooth. A huge thanks to all the sponsors who made the day possible. We hope the many up-and- coming juniors who played on the course keep on with their passion,” said Jones.
