Laerskool Numbi is best of the best
Laerskool Numbi received two awards from the Department of Education for their effort and hard work in 2021.
The primary school outshone other schools in Mpumalanga in two categories, namely the best performing school in Afrikaans home language in Grade Six, and Nkosi Khoza being awarded the best primary school teacher of 2021.
Adel Hobbs, the Grade Six Afrikaans home language teacher, and Khoza were congratulated by the department and the school for their valiant efforts and dedication to teaching the learners the fundamentals of academics through passion for the subjects.

The school chose their three head leaders at the end of March, Hlulo Sambo, Nea Ferreira and Vunene Sono. The traditional barrier of electing a head boy and head girl was broken as the school decided to choose the three strongest candidates to lead the leaners, whether the majority of the three are girls or boys.
“We believe that there is no need for a head boy or girl, or even a deputy head girl or boy, we know that the responsibilities of the children fall under the three learners who are most capable of handling the challenging situations,” said Nokka Ferreira of the school.
