LowMed Hazyview execute ruthless 10-try demolition of Black Cats
LowMed Hazyview Rugby Club stood victorious over the Black Cats on Saturday May 7, scoring a total of 10 tries in the first game of the Mayor's Reserve League.
The home team won 56-0.
The 2022 Ehlanzeni Club Rugby Leagues started the past weekend, and the rugby club faced the Black Cats from KaMhlushwa in their hometown. Many supporters of both clubs filled the pavilion, cheering on the players.

In the first half of the match, the club scored 29 points, already claiming victory over the Black Cats, and they scored 27 points in the second half. Waidon Maritz successfully kicked three conversions through the game. The forwards’ man of the match was Thenis Klopper, who scored the first try of the season. The backline’s man of the match title was shared by Louis Mulder and Lucky Nkomo.

The 2020 Rugby Club season was cancelled and the 2021 one was called off after only three rounds, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, the Rooikatte I and II from Lydenburg, Malelane I and II, Steelpoort, KaMhlushwa Black Cats, the Ratels from Ohrigstad and Matsulu will play LowMed Hazyview Rugby Club in the Ehlanzeni Mayor’s and Mayor’s Reserve Leagues.

The next match will be an away game this Saturday May 14 against Lydenburg’s Rooikatte. The next home game will be on June 4 against Matsulu.
