Reward for more information on Gardee murder

The Gardee family is asking for information regarding other abductions and the emptying of bank accounts from the public.

The family of Hillary Gardee, who was abducted and murdered, are offering a reward for more information surrounding her death.

Former EFF secretary general Godrich Gardee, the father of Hillary (28), took to Facebook recently, calling on people who were in the Mbombela CBD at the time
of the abduction to come forward and help bring closure to the family.

Hillary had been out shopping with her three-year-old daughter at The Plaza on April 29 and was last seen alive at 17:40.  Her daughter was found later that same evening at around 20:30, wandering the streets of KaMagugu. Hillary’s body was found with a gunshot wound to the head on Tuesday May 3.

“Our people in the Mbombela CBD can help police on how Hillary Gardee was kidnapped when she left SUPERSPAR,” said Godrich in his Facebook post.  “Please DM me with any information on shops she visited that day and what car she last went into when she left SPAR (sic).

“We assure you of the highest secrecy and confidentiality concerning information about many other abductions and emptying of bank accounts.  “Please help me bring closure to myself and family. Someone saw it all. If your information is helpful to the police, our family will reward you handsomely. We need this information.”

Following the arrests of ANC member Philemon Lukhele and two other men, Sipho Mkhatshwa and Albert Gama, the ANC has distanced itself from Lukhele and his actions.

On Sunday May 15 the ANC announced the suspension of Lukhele’s membership and added that he had obtained  the membership through irregular means.
Provincial ANC spokes-person Ngelosi Ndhlovu said an investigation had been done that found that the membership was acquired irregularly and that Lukhele is not a South African.

Hillary’s family visited the guest house where she was reportedly raped, assaulted and killed on May 15 to mark the end of 10 days since Hillary’s death. Insika Guest House is said to be owned by Lukhele.

“Today we mark the end of 10 days. We laid a wreath and lit a candle at the guest house of horror,” said Godrich in a Facebook post.  “They shot her at the back of her head here and in return we came to give them flowers and a candle of peace,” he said.
