Biker is airlifted to hospital after accident on Long Tom Pass
The Long Tom Pass, just ouside Lydenburg, was closed for a few hours on Saturday May 28.

A motorbike and a Mazda CX-5 were involved in an accident at approximately 12:30 today, May 28.
The driver of the Mazda CX-5 had been travelling in Lydenburg’s direction and the biker in Sabie’s.

The biker, believed to be in his 30s, had to be airlifted to a hospital in Gauteng for urgent care.
He apparently sustained serious injuries on his right leg as well as other injuries. Netcare 911 paramedics attempted to stabilise him.
N3 Rapid Response and Rescue, the local traffic department and law enforcement agencies were on scene.

The vehicle driver did not sustain any injuries.
