Suspect (33) arrested for murder in Lydenburg

A case of murder is being investigated after a body was discovered at an informal guest house.

On Tuesday June 7 a woman reported to the Lydenburg police that a man was found unresponsive at an informal guest house she was staying at. 

Police established that the woman’s boyfriend allegedly assaulted the victim.

The police and emergency services certified the man dead on the scene. The boyfriend was arrested.

Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, provincial police commissioner SAPS, has applauded the police for leaving no stone unturned in dealing with the matter as well as for their level of commitment in assuring the arrest.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released by the SAPS. The suspect will appear at the Mashishing Magistrate’s Court on Thursday June 9.
