Mokobola Access Bridge is almost complete

The problematic Mokobola Access Bridge, which was giving the community sleepless nights, has been rebuilt, and is nearing completion.

The days of Mokobola Primary School learners in Mabotsha (Fetakgomo Tubatse) bunking classes when it rains, will soon be a thing of the past.

The problematic Mokobola Access Bridge, which was giving the community sleepless nights, has been rebuilt, and is nearing completion.

The bridge connects the Old Penge Road with the school and the Mokobola Cemetery.

It was a huge challenge for the pupils to attend classes when it rained. They risked their lives crossing a flooded river on their way to school. The old bridge was damaged by floods in 2019, after shoddy work by some contractors.

“We are thankful that the Limpopo government and the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) have
fulfilled their promise. Today we have a decent bridge that is way better than the previous one,” said some of the
residents.

The newly erected bridge is expected to be officially handed over to the communities by the FTLM in 2023.
