Man found dead with bullet wound in Acornhoek

The victim's body was found abandoned and naked next to a dumping site.

 The lifeless body of a man, believed to be in his 40s, was found abandoned with a bullet wound in his thigh in Mahashe Trust near the dumping site. According to the provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy, Mohlala, the body was found on February 3, naked, with his uniform dumped next to body.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was a manager at one of the Acornhoek shopping complex’s clothing stores. He was certified dead by medical practitioners on the scene,” said Mohlala.

The provincial commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela, has strongly condemned the incident and called upon the community members to report illegal firearms, mishandling, and firearm related threats.

She also stated that anyone with information that could help the investigation should contact the nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number, 08600 10111, or the My SAPS App.
